Croatia, even though it’s been there since the 6th century and used the oldest Slavic Script called
Glagolitic
which was created in the 9th century it is one of the newest countries in the world.
I’m born and raised in
Zagreb, Croatia the Capital City but there are so many things I learned about my country after I moved away.
Croatia holds the richest remains of Neanderthal People in the world, dating back 3.3 million years.
Most people are not aware that
Dalmatian Dog
is pure Croatia breed going back to the 14th century and that
Tie
originated in the 17th century from Croatia (necktie- cravat) that became popular in the 1920s.
Croatia is also a home of the smallest town in the world -
Hum,
and a 1st country that build a
Pipe Organ
that plays by the sea waves in the city of Zadar, Dalmacija.
Nikola Tesla
is Croatian born in the small village of Smiljan, Lika his parents had Serbian origin.
Famous Games of Thrones Kings Landing
is filmed in Dubrovnik.
For history lovers, one of the last 3 best-preserved
colosseums
stands in
Pula, Istra.

Mushroom lovers would love Croatia as it is a home of the biggest

Zagreb Cathedral is the tallest building in Croatia and its
3 chandeliers
that hang inside were once hanged in Las Vegas casino.
Unfortunately, Cathedral was partly destroyed by a strong
earthquake in 2020
and it's currently under construction even though it was under decades-long renovation that hasn’t finished.
Croatia has a coastline with

for never-ending exploring and breathtaking views.
And of course, none the less, there’s Soccer, the biggest sport in Croatia which was also a huge part of my growing up as I started playing before I can even remember, ever thought back then it was not a girl sport.
Competing in World Cup FIFA 2018, Croatia was one of the smallest countries in the world ever made it to world cup finals, and lots of people learned about Croatia and where she stands on the World map.
